Chocolate avocado mousse dessert – yes, you read that right, and it’s oh-so healthy

Avocados for dessert? We love avocados in so many savory applications — from guacamole to avocado toast and much, much more.
The health benefits of avocados are also well-known. Avocados are a great source of monosaturated fatty acids, which may help to reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Additionally, they are a great source of many essential vitamins and minerals, including folate, potassium and vitamin E, among others.
However, most of us have not tried this super fruit as a dessert. And I’m here to tell you that you are missing out if you don’t try this chocolate avocado mousse recipe — and it only takes about 5 minutes to make!
- 2 ripe avocados
- 4 tbsp. of honey or agave syrup
- ½ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 tbsp. milk
- pinch of salt
Halve and pit the avocados, and blend with the rest of the ingredients in a blender or food processer until smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Top with fresh fruit.
Decadent doesn’t have to be unhealthy! Indulge yourself in this rich, chocolatey dessert without the guilt.
